[Monday : Tennis Lessons]

 

  • forget about one's troubles   근심거리를 잊다

You can foeget about your troubles when you play tennis.

I watch this movie whenever I want to forget about my troubles.

Taking a walk is a good way to forget about your troubles.

 

  • one's body holds up   건강이 허락하다, 몸이 버티다

I want to keep playing tennis, as long as my body holds up.

My body held up much longer when I was younger.

My mom promised to take care of the baby while her body held up.

 

  • a pretty long time   상당히 오랜 시간

You've played tennis for a pretty long time.

I waited for a pretty long time, but she never came.

It takes a pretty long time to learn how to use that software.

 

 

[Tuesday : Home Swimming Pool]

 

  • be severely limited by   ~때문에 매우 제한되다, 심한 제약을 받다

Ourdoor activities these days are severely limited by the coronavirus.

I had some great ideas, but I was severely limited by the deadline.

We were severely limited by rules and regulations.

 

  • water spots   물때

Using chlorine can prevent water spots.

Water spots are very difficult to clean.

I thought it was just a water spot, but it was actually a scratch.

 

  • not as bad as I had thought   우려했던 만큼은 아니다

The cost of istalling a pool was not as bad as I had thought.

I thought it would be really difficult, but it was not as bad as I had thought.

The dish was not as bad as I had thought.

 

 

[Wednesday : Soft Drinks]

 

  • greasy food   기름진 음식

People often drink soft drinks with greasy foods.

I feel sick because I had greasy food for lunch.

I hate washing the dishes after having greasy foods.

 

  • overdo it   과도하게 하다

Soft drinks contain a lot of sugar, so it's not good to overdo it.

I think I overdid it at the bar last night.

I was afraid it would be cold, so I overdid it when I got dressed.

 

  • a high sugar content   높은 설탕 함량

Sodas have a high sugar content.

I didn't know soft drinks had such a high sugar content.

I didn't eat anything with a high sugar content during my diet.

 

 

[Thursday : College Clubs]

 

  • join a club   동아리에 가입하다

Lots of students join a club in college.

Some people join a club when they buy a car.

I joined many clubs when I was in college.

 

  • boost someone's confience   자신감을 키우다

You can boost your confidence through regular performances.

The practice test boosted my confidence.

Practicing speaking with a friend can boost your confidence.

 

  • back in school   학창 시절에

Were you in any clubs back in school?

We dated for a while back in school.

My mom was really pretty back in shcool.

 

 

[Friday : Physical Therapists]

 

  • undergo formal training   정식 교육을 받다

You need to undergo formal training to become a physical therapist.

It's not safe to use the equipment without undergoing formal training.

I didn't need to undergo formal training, thanks to the internship.

 

  • become a thing   현실이 되다

I hope that it will become a thing someday.

When I was a student, the Internet hadn't become a thing yet.

It's amazing how quickly self-driving cars are becoming a thing.

 

  • lower back pain   허리 통증

Has your lower back pain gotten better now?

I couldn't even get up because of my lower back pain.

Bad posture is the cause of my lower back pain.
