Anyone who has had a noisy upstairs neighbor can commiserate with people who have had that kind of distress.

I can commiserate with a tired parent now.

I can't commiserate with someone who is so ungrateful.

 

 

• R and R (rest and relaxation)   휴식과 안정

Our homes are places where we should be getting R and R.

I think a vacation will be a good chance for some R and R.

There was no time for R and R last weekend.

 

 

• take the cake   최악이다, 가장 심하다

What really takes the cake is that the problem can't be resolved easily.

I've been angry with him before, but this takes the cake.
